CONVERTING A JONSERED ITALIAN ENGINE

I HAVE AN OLDER JONSERED 361 WITH AN ITALIAN ENGINE AROUND 30CC. JONSERED SAYS, NO WAY YOU DON'T HAVE A JONSERED. ANYONE KNOW WHAT OR WHO MADE THIS ITALIAN ENGINE. NICE LITTLE BUGGER THAT WOULD MAKE SOMETHING HOP THROUGH THE AIR. SOMEONE SAID IT MAY BE A PRO 35. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A SAW.

there is a Prokut 32 and 38 cc in my big saw book. They bear a resemblance to a zenoah 38cc saw engine in the posted image.

best clone of a Quadra I ever saw, look at the shape of the case and the intake port, even the muffler...The number on the carb will tell who it was made for..
A Prokut 38 bears no resemblance to a G38, it's closer to a Quadra with the one piece crank and loose roller bearings on the big end...Except....The Prokut cylinder bolts on to the case, the crank goes in from the front instead of the case coming apart the the bottom..

I must have heard the quatra thing 12 times today. my conversion guy said the same thing. I have 5 of these puppies, so we're going to give one or two a shot. would still like to know the maker for future references.
thanks again

Should be good, a ball bearing Quadra is not a bad idea...If the carb is a Walbro, can you see the model numbers ?

the carb has WB and under that 5B and next to that is HO. i was told the carb numbers would lead to the maker. thanks rick

There are 2 bolt patterns for Walbro carbs, the WB is one of the larger ones, no possibility that it would fit a small engine like yours....
