Convert engines with crankcase supercharge?
Has anyone successfully converted any engines with crankcase supercharging?
YS? Shindaiwa? Whatever? [8D][8D] |
RE: Convert engines with crankcase supercharge?
The Shindawa is already a gas fueled engine and cgangine to a battery powered CDi would make it lighter. I think RC Ignition has done one or two.
The YS is a non-starter as the fuel system has silicone parts. Silicone and gas do not get along very well. |
RE: Convert engines with crankcase supercharge?
Yes, I am aware of the YS silicone issue.....think you were the one who reminded me the last time.
However, I am not familiar with a YS. Can we bypass/dismantle the silicone parts? The silicone parts are mainly for the fuel pumping action right? So a walbro carb may be able to provide just that? Just some guesses ........... |
RE: Convert engines with crankcase supercharge?
The silicone diaphragm is the regulator, not the pump. This regulator is more complicated in operation than what the Walbro is.
The Y-S regulator combines engine speed, tank pressure, and engine suction into a proper amount of fuel. Enjoy, Jim |

Just a thought...how about using a cline regulator....on the YS engine? Capt,n

Hello Captinjohn
Did you manage to convert the Shindaiwai engine for RC? Also, does that Shindaiwai have Crankcase supercharge? Thanks! :) |
RE: Convert engines with crankcase supercharge?
I did not convert a Shindawa. I think it may have a super charge effect. Not sure. Capt,n

Is there any news on the Shindawa 4 cycle engine by now. Last post was over 2 months ago!!! Capt,n
