Toro 25cc Weedeater engine
 

Is a Toro 25cc weedeater engine a good one to convert with out much mods. I have a chance of getting one free. Used, but who cares.It is a 2 ring piston, which has to be better than one.

I don't know how old it is but some of the older models were zenaoh's. i know a guy who has an old one that he bought new and is still going 21 years later

Sure it is a good one! The price is right is a big parameter. Your doing it a favor it probably was tired of working around the yard and ready for some fun flying.:)
Seriously take it, try getting it to run as is, just to know if it will try to start, and the piston moves; remove the engine and post a pic someone should be able to ID the engine. Once engine is visiable you will have a much better idea. Oftentimes a carb kit and new spark plug (gapped) are all it takes to get one running. I like to take the engine apart and clean throughly just to be sure there are no hidden problems.

I've ben itching to do the little Toro ever since I saw it at Home Depot. It looks like a good dual BB, similar to the Echo and Cub Cadet 25cc ones I did. I'm sure you'll have to replace the stock carb with a adjustable needle one. I believe the Toro has got the Stratocharge EPA-friendly kinda carb on it.

I JUST FINISHED A MONSER AND I WAS WONDERING WHAT KIND OF CARB TO GET FOR MY TORO 25CC ENGINE. ANYONE? PLEASE I NEED MORE STING FROM ENGINE. THANKS

Hi M007GUNIT,
People have the best luck using a 11mm Walbro with two needles on the 25 to 30cc weedies. It will have a 28 cast into the inlet on the venturi. The most popular is the model WA-167. I'm using the WT-324's made for weedeater. The 28 equals 28/64ths which is about 11.11mm.
