42cc engine question

I was at Lows today and there was a Poulan 42cc and a Troy-Built 42cc chainsaw on shelf. They looked like they had the same engine. Does anyone know? Thanks Capt,n

RE: 42cc engine question

Troy Built, anymore, is another trade name, of many, that belongs to the MTD outfit of Cleveland, Ohio.

They have many brands including Cub Kadet, Bolens, and the own the Ryobi name as well as the production rights.

The two engines could very well be the same? They have working relationship with most of the lawn & garden community.

Enjoy,

Jim

Poulan is owned by electrolux which also own husky , they should be different engines I would think , the homelite engines also look simular to the poulans . but are different .

When I was at Lows I did not have time to check them out....seems like wife is always having me look at other un-related items. You know the routine[:'(][&o]:D
