Long shaft vibration

1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone,
I am convert a long shaft WeedEater blower (BV-200)25cc engine. The conversion is very strieght forward with a four bolt back plate and impeller hub that converts easily to prop use. My concern is vibration with the long shaft which is one inch longer then the typical conversion. If it works out it will make a nice sleek cowl installation. Does any one have any thoughts or experience with these engines?

WOW........... that one is really long and might cause you some serious problems if any kind of aerobatics are in your future. if at all possible at the very least cut it down to 1/2 its length and maybe use a wider base for the spacer

Hey Dave as you know I am doing Echo and Poulan conversions. I have never made a prop hub longer than two inches that did not have shaft support through it. One Echo I am just finishing has a shaft that is about 2 1/4 long or so. If the engine needs to be out any farther than that I always use a stand off of some sort. I would think that you should be able to do the same with your engines. Never had a Ryobi though so maybe I am wrong. Let me know on those carbs so I can get them out to you.
