Does anyone have a cylinder and pistion for the old mac 32cc engine?

What was the engine originally in? I have some Mac chainsaw engines and if it's what you are looking for just pay the shipping and you can have it if it fits. If you can send me a picture it would help........Farley9n

Unfortunately I do not have the means of getting a pic online right now, if it is not too much trouble you can do a search on here for the mcculluch 28 or 33cc motor. These are usually sting trimmer motors but I guess the 33 could have served as a chain saw motor as well. These two engines are identical.

The Mac 32 chain saw has a couple different variations. One earlier one has the carb on the front (flywheel side) and the exhaust on the back. Later ones had the carb on the left of the cylinder with the exhaust on the back (chain side).

The 32/28 string trimmer has the carb on the left and the exhaust on the right. The muffler is held on with a spring.

The 32 blower had a bolt on muffler.

Generally, on the string trimmer, the 28 -32 jug/piston are interchangeable on the same crankcase.

Thank you W8ye, for that clarification. I am looking for the a like 28-32cc engine. I already have the 28cc crank case but the jug is scored up a great deal so I decided to try and see if I could find a 32cc jug that may be a little better than the one I got and get a bit more power as well. If you have a pic of these twins could you be kind enough to post on here for me.

I have a converted one that was a 28 with a broken cylinder that someone gave me. I bought a hopped up 32 piston and cylinder from a guy on here and made a 32 out of it. It runs real good. 18-8 @ 7500.

This picture is from the Carr Precision website. They sell conversions.

I have two converted and they have C-H iginitions on them.

I used a 1/2" carb on both engines.

These engines havn't been made since back in the 90's. They dissappeared from the store shelves in 1999.

I found a good one sticking up out of a trash can a couple weeks ago. I've been using it as a whacker. It had another name on it like Ortho or something but it's a Mac 32.

Mac's were not the most popular conversion engine even when they were in all the stores.

do you know the max rpm for a mac 32cc with out a prop it's very important I don't have the extra money to buy a laser tach so if you could tell me i'll most pleased!

they're built pretty well, it shouldn't hurt to get in the 9000rpm or so range, the boat guys run homelites in the 20K range and the mac's are built about the same...
