GT-80 Converted to 124cc?
 

Here's a pic from a website in England.

They call it an RPM-124. Looks a LOT like the case from a GT-80 that someone stuck a couple G62 cylinders on. But, I can't identify a G62 cylinder just by looking at the side of it.

What do you guys think? Is this a Zenoah product that we don't have here in the US or did these guys convert it by themselves?

Looks like G62 jugs (2X62+124). I posted in another thread that the G45 & G62 cylinders look very similar and wondered if the the 62's would fit. I gues this may have answered my question!

I wonder if you could put G-45 cylinders on a GT-80 crankcase and get a GT-90?

Of course, you'd also have to swap the pistons, but the wrist pins would have to be the same size too.

If you REALLY can just swap pistons and cylinders on the GT-80 and turn it into a 124cc engine with G62 parts---then I'm off to ebay to look for a used GT-80.

I got a NIB GT-80 here, but I'm not tearing it up.

Looks like G62 and GT80 parts...Somebody did a lot of creative machining to get the pieces to work together....
A company in Japan, Gen Engineering, made a twin about 10 years ago using G62 parts..Same hub, 2 carbs, same mounting pattern...It was displayed at Oshkosh in the Ultralight section...There were 2 types, one backpack mount and one that was on a long pipe behind the pilot on a Rogallo wing...Both had a big guard over the prop and a spring starter..There was a rep in So Cal but my english and his Japanese didn't work out too well...
Price at that time was about $1500....I had one of the engines but let an[:@] (ex) friend use it and don't know whatever became of it..The [:@](ex) friend is in the slammer

The G62 crank won;t fit the GT80 case..The G62 cylinders won't fit the GT80 case..Don't know what they have, but it wasn't easy or inexpensive:D
My guess is a Gen Engineering 124 with a single carb manifold and different mag...
