Hi there,

Does anyone recognise this engine please?

Looks like a chainsaw conversion. A lot of these were done in the 90's. Don't know what brand though.

How does it run?

Looks like it has sat for a while?

Enjoy,

I bought it on eBay with an attached Bucanneer 96" span toffee bomber. I thought it might be a useful waster model to try to gain some piloting skills without breaking a model I had built myself.

It gives the appearance of having been an operational motor but the ignition coil looks to me as if someone has been trying to drill off the top of the coil. It has a conical seat sparking plug and I haven't bothered to tighten it to check compression. I've bought a new Zenoah G-38 to strap on the front but I would still like to know about the old motor.

I have not heard of a Mac, any further info would be appreciated.

Thanks for the attention chaps,

old git.

Apparently someone was trying to replace the spark plug lead on the coil. IMHO, it bears a very strong resemblance to the Kioritz(Echo) 21cc GT series trimmer engine. The Kioritz is a very good engine for it's size, it will outperform the Homelite 25cc. If you can repair or replace the coil, it is worth giving a try.

You may find a good used coil for it ....at small engine shops. Capt,n

Hi Git,
It looks just like my Mac 21cc from a roadrunner trimmer. Half of the coil support has been cut away. I planned to make a bracket to bolt between the head and the coil bracket. The port timming is much more mild then the Echo which it ressembles. Mine has one unpinned ring and is well made. Here is a picture of mine.

the coil looks like a mac coil white going by what I can see of it in the photo I have several laying around here.
