MCCulloch Clutch Remove
 

I have two Eager beaver MCCulloch weed trimmer motors, one dont have the sticker with the model name on it, im thinking they are 18-22 cc (they look exactly the same) One is an I-S and has a clutch mechanism on the driveshaft with the bell being in the front housing, and the other that i dont know what model it is just has the bell attatched to the shaft (no clutch). I was wondering if anybody knows how to get the clutch off of the driveshaft? Is it pressed on? And also how to get the bell of of the other driveshaft? They dont look like they have screws in the end of the shaft..

The cluch should have a screw in the end where the cable slip into the cluch

Usually the centrifcal clutch is screwed on and has a left hand thread. you will need a piston stop to lock the crankshaft and then tap or have a spanner wrench to turn the clutch.

I don't think they are left handed on the mac if I remember right which may not happen!!!

Just use a nylon rope in the plug hole for a lock , works good and won't mare the piston or cylinder.

OKay cool, the clutch came off with the left handed threads THANKS ALOT FOR THE HELP. Now the other one is a little different.. it doesnt have a clutch and basically its just a square piece on the shaft that the long bendable shaft was stuck into. I tried to torque it like they were left handed theads but it didnt come off. Any help? The model of the one without the clutch is I-SX.

the one without the cluch should be right handed theads. Does it have a hex next to the flywheel. The one without the cluch you should be able to take a 1/2 deep well socket and unsrew it .
