Need to get head examined
Need to get head examined – not engine head
Looked at my gas engine inventory this morning and realized there are 18 in various stages of completion of either airplane or engine. Is this crazy or what? Bill |
RE: Need to get head examined
Well this is interesting. I too must need an examination. I have at least that many. Oh yea, have 148 carbs here too! :D

RE: Need to get head examined
you guys haven't even scratched the surface yet.

The "sickness" is at multiple levels I see. What a way to be "sick" though.:)

ORIGINAL: tim220225 Well this is interesting. I too must need an examination. I have at least that many. Oh yea, have 148 carbs here too! :D You must be a carburetor expert. During the inventory process I noticed that a 14-year-old Homlite had a very small carburetor and a new Ryobi purchased last year with a tiny carburetor. Maybe you might sell me a carb for each engine or at minimum let me know what size carb should be used. Thanks. Bill |

ORIGINAL: KenLambert you guys haven't even scratched the surface yet. Oh, oh. The addiction must be worse than I thought. Bill |
RE: Need to get head examined
I have several variations of carbs. I also developed a spreadsheet to help identify the "right" carb for the engine. Email me and I will send you a copy. I would be glad to send you a carb or two, or .....

RE: Need to get head examined
Ya know, there are 12-step groups for you guys. I've only got 3, but I've only been "converting" for less than a year. Do you think I have the potential to become a problem converter?
|
RE: Need to get head examined
Sure, you've got potentilal. You'll know for sure when you get to this point: I just spent the last hour changing servo gears in 20 year old $10 servos to try and get one more conversion in the air:D The Mac 25 will be flying soon in a scratch built plane.

Sad, so sad...

Amateurs... :)
2 guys from Flagstaff stopped by here a few years ago.. They bought out what was left when McCulloch went out of business in Lake Havasu City... 17 tractor trailer loads of stuff, including 30,000 NIB carbs... They left some miscellaneous stuff here, mostly good for nothing... Don't know what ever happened to all the rest of the stuff, they have not come back..;) |
RE: Need to get head examined
Yea I have tried those programs, some more than once. Darn addictions! Never met an engine I couldn't convert. Make that enjoy converting. I am painfully addicted to those Echo twins currently. Nice cylinders! [8D] This is actually becomming a family addiction, my kids are now hunting candidates. So many motors... So little time. Who cares if there is hope for us? :D

RE: Need to get head examined
This really is sad. Been in the shop replacing bearings in my right angle attachment for the Bridgeport mill. Have to do some PM BUT IT CUTS INTO MY CONVERTING TIME. Come in here and everyone of us "addicted" folk are on RCU now!
