32cc on Ultimate bipe
1 Attachment(s)
I have this plane and I am about to put a MAC 32 up front. It barely fits under the cowl. Is this overkill? If not what size prop should I run? This is my first conversion and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

IMHO the weight of the engine is way too high. Heavy planes, no matter the horsepower, don't fly well.

Thats what I need to know. What about a poulan 25cc it is a lot lighter. It also fits perfectly under the cowl. Here it is as a rough fit.

RE: 32cc on Ultimate bipe
If you kept the weight down to about 8lbs with the engine and planes weight combined you would probably have a decent flying sport plane but thats it.You could use a 6oz tank to keep the flying weight down.i had a poulan 25 i did and only had about 7-8 lbs thrust with a 16x6 mas wood prop.It was stock except i gutted the muffler.I first put it on my sons DVIII,1/4 scale balsa usa.weighed 11.25 lbs and did fly it but its a high wing and basic flat bottom,84 inch with lots wing area.i took it off and converted a 30cc homy and installed instead.hope this helps you a little about your decision.

The airplane is a 60 to 90 size airplane. You will not be happy with the size mismatch. The airframe will also not be strong enough.

RE: 32cc on Ultimate bipe
When I bought this plane(used) it came with a ST2300. It flew the plane OK but still did not have unlimited vertical. It advertised .60 to .90, But IMO a .60 would not even get it off the ground and a .90 would have just enough power to to fly it and thats about all it would do. I guess about all I can do is find another big glow engine for it.

Get a good tunned pipe on that Supertiger engine. Maybe a pump also. You should have plenty of power. Capt,n:D
