O & R Compact III Conversion

1 Attachment(s)
Hello Everyone
I have recently purchased this engine on ebay. It is supposed to be 1 HP and without the flywheel weighs less than 2 Lbs. I would like to use it on an 8 ft. wingspan old timer and would like to know if anyone can offer an opinion as to how this may work on Gas/Methanol glow conversion. Could it swing a 16-6 prop at around 6000 rpm? Anyone with hands on experience? Can I substitute a regular model engine carburator instead of the original pumper carb? Any help and/or advice will be greatly appreciated.
Joshua

I think you will be better off with a Ryobi

Joshua,
What is the displacement? This will help determine the correct prop size. It appears to be a rotary valve engine. A walbro carb would help and a better muffler. You will have to make or have made the hub and mount. A more modern trimmer engine would be a lot easier and conversion parts are available cheap.
