Homelite 31cc

I have converted a Homelite 31cc can anyone tell me what it is comparable to in a Glow or Gas.I know it makes a difference with props. I am looking for a fun fly that this will go in. It still has the mag.I am Hopeing something like a Kantana will work in the 72"
Thanks

Your engine is comparable in size to about a 180. It is heavy for it's power output . The best model that comes to mind for a funfly, would be,a 120 stinger or 4-120 fourstar, possibly a 1/4 cub. I would aim for a model with a long tail moment arm to offset the engine weight. Prop size would be something in th 16x8 to 18x6. You are looking to run around 7000rpm +-. Good luck, red

I have a 18-6 prop on it and it pulls a solid 7000 rpm. I was looking at this Kantans what do you think?

That is a nice looking plane at a great price. I see no reason the homey wouldn't work for fun type flying. I would go over all the wood joints I can see, and use flying wires in the tail surfaces. It would probably help, if the servos were in the rear. Be sure to keep as much distance between the kill switch and receiver wiring as possible. Good luck, red
