Any of these worth converting
1 Attachment(s)
Look at my collection. What planes would these be decent on? I would love to tear apart the weed eater and put the 31cc ryobi on something? Any suggestions for a nice plane? How much cash to set one up? What would I need?
I also have the Craftsman 55cc. I would like to put that on an Extra 330L. The BME one. How would it fly that plane? The MAC is the one I could part with the easiest. Is there any hope for it? The saw say it is a 35cc and the tag on it says its 38cc? Are there conversion parts out there for this engine? What would make a nice plane? How about Ryan's rebel or a Spad Ultra Stick? or a 1/4 cub?? |
RE: Any of these worth converting
The MAC 35 is probably the least desirable. I have a couple 32's and a 38. I thought they were best left as a saw? Some of the old ones had the carb on the front. Most have needle bearings rather than ball bearings. Some of the latest Macs are much like a Poulan but the 38 is not.
The Craftsman 55 has been a good one to change over. It's much like a Poulan. The Ryobi has it's following and often converted. |

Convert all 3 engines. Give one to each Grandson. When you work on them ...let them help you. Sould be a good learning and fun time for you all. Capt,n
