ENGINE ROTATION

I have a question. Will a piston ported engine like a small Echo run with the same power in both directions? I know the ignition should be about 28* degrees before TDC at full throttle. Thanks Capt,n

I would think it would. The direction the piston/rod/crank is moving shouldn't matter if the timing is set right. Just my 2c

Most piston ports do equally well running backwards. It won't hurt anything so give it a go and see.
We do this a lot for twin engined models so the plane behaves better.

tkg: Is it hard to find props for a 24cc gas engine that could be run clockwise? Capt,n

The trick is to use a Pusher prop on a reverse rotation tractor engine.
