Mac46 Brillelli conversion!
1 Attachment(s)
I bought this MAC4600 chainsaw from and auction site for $40. I sent it to Scott at Brillelli for conversion and this is what i got...
I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD LOOK THIS GOOD!! I have not had the chance to run it yet as i am in the process of moving so it might be a few months. Knowing Scotts reputation is should run great!! |
RE: Mac46 Brillelli conversion!
DrBenz, that is a great looking motor. So, you sent him the stock chainsaw engine? What does the conversion cost? I didn't know he would convert your engine. I'd go with Brillelli in a heartbeat, too. Scott is a great guy.
Can't wait to hear your results. Rick |
RE: Mac46 Brillelli conversion!
Scott gave me a really good deal. I think he was kinda hesitant due to the volume of other engines he has. It took a couple months and I was willing to be patient. He charged me $150 with ignition, no mounts ( I have some hangar nine mounts).

RE: Mac46 Brillelli conversion!
Thanks for the info, Doc. Well, I'm sold on the price, especially considering what all he did to get it to this point. His machine work is superb, too. If I can find an unconverted engine at a similar cost, I'll contact Scott and see if he's interested in doing another conversion.
When you have a chance to run it in, please post some numbers and your impressions. |
RE: Mac46 Brillelli conversion!
Due to my current (unexpected) moving situation, this engine might be for sale. Not yet sure when, might be a couple of months.
let me know if you are interested. Paul |
RE: Mac46 Brillelli conversion!
When I ran it here, the Mac was very comparable to the Poulan 46 we do. Weight is higher though by a ways. I believe Craftsman has a 55cc chainsaw out now that is a Mac based saw. The engine looks just like this one. It may have more power to offset the extra weight.

RE: Mac46 Brillelli conversion!
Interesting. A while back I saw a thread about the Craftsman 55cc someone had converted, and at the time Sears had them on sale. I can't find them now on their website.
I need an engine for a 20 lb. warbird. As nice as it looks, I just don't think the 46cc would be enough. If you're going to Perry weekend after next, I'd like to see it, though. |
