Question about engine conversion and airplanes

I am fairly new to the hobby and looking to convert a gas weed eater engine to a airplane engine. I am looking for any suggestions on a good engine, airplane combo. I would like the airplane to be at least 80 inch wingspan and be able to do beginner aerobatic and maybe some 3D flying if possible. Thank you for the help.

How about some aerobatics and beginner 3D.
Hovering cost money.

KW,
A Sears Craftsman 55cc saw engine may be the answer for you. Combine it with a 80" or larger ARF. Make sure that your flying and building skills are up to the task. If not practice some more on the small ships. Here is the link. Electric ignition would be required for lowest weight.

Thanks for all the information. I have another question if I went down to a 31cc engine what would be a good plane size for this engine?

Kevin,
If you are talking about a Ryobi, you will need at least 1,000 square inches. The engine is heavy with mag ignition, about four pounds minimum.
