3 Conversion engines need a home.
I have a 24cc, 25cc, 30cc engines that need air frames. How about some suggestions. I would per to plan build or kit build. Help Me out. 30cc is a homelite conversion from a 185-st weed wacher. The 2 other engines are craftmans weed whacker engines. Any know what props to use with these engines.

I have a Homelite 30 on a Bridi Stick or Old timer. I forget which? They are the same plane except for the label on the box. The Homelite takes it for a real whirl. there no problem with power.
The plane is broad in the rear fuselage which helps keep the tail vibration under control. Even though Joe Bridi built his for a ST 2500, the plane is a very ideal small gas engine plane. I originally had a early style G23 on it and it was a sick cow but the Homelite 30 woke it up. http://image2.rcuniverse.com/gallery...4/lg-12713.jpg |

RE: 3 Conversion engines need a home.
What size wing span should I be looking at. Are the 24cc and 25cc engines good for like .91 to1.20 size plane. and the 30 cc would be in the same range too.

RE: 3 Conversion engines need a home.
I have had a 21cc Echo on a 60 size Edge. Just consider the wing and what type of flying you will be doing when choosing your engine. The 30cc would fly a 4 star 120 just fine but would probably not be real strong in a 120 size Extra or Edge. Again it boils down to the flying style. I am building an 80 plus inch wing GTM Fokker DVIII now and will be using a 31cc Honda 4 stroke in it. Should be an ideal combination, however that engine in a mild to high performance plane would be a dog at best.

Tim what type of edge is it a kit or from plans?

RE: 3 Conversion engines need a home.
As regards the 24-25cc engines, the weak ones would work in the 91 size planes but a strong running engine would work in a 120 size plane.
There was a guy in Mansfield that put a Homelite 25 in a Venture 60. The plane flew and was not over powered but the plane was changed completely because of the extra weight of the engine. Sorta ruined a good Venture 60. There's a picture of the pink plane on the Venture site. I have a Robinhood 80 that flies nicely with a OS 91 Surpass II but some people have both the old style and new style Zenoah G23's in them. They fly nice also. |
