RE: ID this engine
mcolloch weed wacker 26cc? needle bearing crankshaft.:D

RE: ID this engine
Wow! I wish I could find an engine on my porch! Actually I don't have a porch! That's probably why then:(

RE: ID this engine
erik it's not 26cc, bore 1.23 inch stroke 1.2 inch I thought mcolloch also but the 23cc i don't know if they made one. Trash man drops a weedwacker off every once and awhile but first time for just a motor.

RE: ID this engine
Oh I get you! Must have a word with the trash man, so far last year I managed to find within 500ft of my house, 2 snow blowers, 1 leaf blower and a gas lawn mower! Not to mention a 4ft model of the USS Constitution in really good condition and a load of furniture! The things people throw around here! I put it in the local paper and people come and buy it! Go figure! Never had the trash guy deliver though! That's a new one on me and I must try.:D
Thanks Rich |
RE: ID this engine
That is a mac motor I had one that came from a eager beaver weedie.. they are very very heavy , I threw mine away..

RE: ID this engine
I have an older engine that came off of a Mac eager beaver weedie. It is a echo 16cc.dont throw that engine away first of all. Also look for 3 elongated triangles shaped like a christmas tree, but there laying on there side so it looks like the shape of an [E].Check around cylinder base and around rear crank housing. That means echo brand. Also i did the math like this:
1.2 inch=about 30mm-just an estimate. 15[2]x3.14[pie]=706.5 706.5x30mm[1.2inch]stroke=21,195 this means the cc is about 21.1-21.2. I have 2- 22cc echos [21.2-4 actual] on 2 of my hedge trimmers. One of them matches your exhaust bolts, staggered. If ya go to echo-usa.com and put HC-200 in the search bar and then click on the manuals, parts pics ect,see if those match your engine.I think they will.I think its an echo 22cc and is very eligible for a conversion.Im doing one right now. |
RE: ID this engine
Bore x bore x stroke x .7854 = displacement. If you measure in inches, that will give you cubic inches. If you want cc's, divide that result by .061.
For a quickie "cheat" measure on an assembled engine, you can often stick a pencil in the exhaust port and over against the far cylinder wall. Rotate the engine so the piston puts a crimp mark on the pencil. That will give you a rough bore dimension. Then if the spark plug hole gives you a straight enough shot, you can insert a pencil and mark it at the top and bottom of the piston stroke, measure between the marks and that will give you the stroke. RE: ID this engine
It might be a Mac Roadrunner. The triangle mount on the rear is ude for the GT100 JohnDeer and Echo looks like all of them.
|
RE: ID this engine
It's an ECHO, Ive got one just like it. Displacement is 21.2 turns a 15/8 at 8000 rpm's.

This is the symbol that you will find on the Echo's.
Hopefully this will show up in the pic. |

That's it, if it's got that symbol it's an Echo/Kioritz.

RE: ID this engine
Thanks everyone, No tree on cyl. or crankcase H on cyl. exh. side 9 on intake side.
Crank has a metric thread 8x1 or 8x1.25 found a metal tag (under dirt) Mod. 40002804. It has tree on it. single ring piston. Here is a great calculator for motors. http://home.earthlink.net/~jalby/puter.htm |

I think itsa Mac. the following pics should confirm. if i can send them. I think this was new in the early 1980s and i saved
it for it's robustness and high revving nature. I'm interested in trading or selling this as i'm eyeballing my Ryobi 26 4stroker to adapt to a boat. Hope you get these pictures. |
RE: ID this engine
It's a 21.2 ECHO, the christmas symbol is clearly visable in pict. # 3 of your last post...........
