Anyone have an idea what make this engine is ? It measures 33cc, 2 rings, held togeather with grade 10.9 Torx, ball bearing crank, roller bearing con rod, no carb or muffler. Huge cooling fins, lots of extra metal to cut off.

General consenses is that it is indeed a Shindiawa. I''ve decided to convert it using a CH ignition see how much prop it will turn. After much cutting and grinding it's ready to send off to RCIGN (Ralph Cunningham) for an ignition hub and bead blasting. Got it down to 2.25 lbs.

RE: Engine ID
GREAT! Someone else who grinds down an engine as much as me!:D (HELP! Homelite HBIOO 25-30cc leaf blower engine Glow conversion. thread) I got my homelite down to about 2.5lb but now with the prop hub, prop and all the ancilaries it''s back up to 3lb 2oz from my shady memory! I might try to get it under 3lb with a bit more grinding but I still have to make the engine mounts.

I think a good call Rich!Heres one of the engines i recieved today.A 27cc shindaiwa.Made in Japan.Looks awful close to me.Weight with flywheel in pic is just a couple oz over 3 lb.2 rings,a good solid 3/8ths crank at least.Double ball bearings.Large intake and exhaust ports.Mine had a slide carb on it like a motorcycle.
Antiqe,i would be safe to say its a shindy. The stock muffler is almost identical to the old G23 muffler.Which i have one and it bolts right up to this engine perfectly. |
RE: Engine ID
Thanks Buck, I sure it''s a Shindiawa. It''s on the way to Ralph.............
