27cc stihl
Guys i have read and read and yeah you guessed it read some more. I have a 27cc that i converted with your help a few years ago with magneto ran good heavy as heck but i want to go gas glow id rather post on here and look dumb than to tear something or someone up lol i really need some insight on the kiss "keep it simple stupid" method on converting this engine. I am going to put it in a 1/4 scale cub. i had some problems with the engine loosing fuel out of the carb when the airflow went by it, why does it do that and what can i do to fix it i know you guys are way beyond my knowledge so let me in on some tricks of the trade.
thanks Chris MY Worst day of flying was better than my best day at work... |

If the cover with the hole in it on the carb is facing the prop,jb weld or braze ,or thread a nipple in it and hook a piece of tygon to it and run it into the fuse or motor box.theres threads and pics in this forum. Most all carbs spit back some so a velocity stack will cure it also.Heres a pic of my 28cc stihl on ign.Total weight RTF minus the ign battery is 3-1/2lbs.7400 on a APC17x8.I bought this engine used also. The weight also includes the prop.

RE: 27cc stihl
Here is a great guy to do business with.
Plus he has Velocity stacks for $3.50 http://www.scottellingson.com/brillelli_engines_003.htm I had a 25cc Toro on a 1/4 scale clipped wing cub. It loves a 18x6 prop. It would swing a bigger one but this was the prop to use. It flat jumped into the air. |
RE: 27cc stihl
hey buck can you give me some pics of carb side and give some insight on putting the ignition on
