Briggs 4-cycle conversions and mounting position
Hey guy's I'm wanting to convert a 34 or 40cc briggs 4-cycle. My problem is I have to mount the engine with the jug facing down. Having never converted a 4-cycle I wasn't sure it the jug had to be up or if it didn't matter. Anyways Is it possible to do this with the briggs engines or should I stick with a g38?

It has been done.Even the 40cc won't have as much power as the G38, though.What type of plane are you thinking about?

I was thinking about using the briggs on the Waterman Aerobile. Here's a pic of the full scale one. I guess if the 40cc briggs doesn't have roughly the same power as the g38 it's a moot point. The model when finished will weigh around 22 lbs and have a wingspan of 92" don't remember how much wing area off hand.

Cool plane.I'm not sure the Briggs would be good in a pusher either as it weighs over 5-1/5 lbs.My 40ccs turns a 20x8 MA Scimitar at @6400RPM.
