My Homelite conversion, question about weight also...

Here's some pictures of my Sig Four-Star 120 ARF with a Homelite 26.2cc engine from a little saw. It's the one with the needle bearings, and reed induction, but it works well enough. I've had it on an airboat for the past 4 years, and it never gave me any problems at all, so I figured it was time to get it in the air... ;)

Also, I had a question about weight. What's a good number to shoot for with a conversion this size? Mine, with the muffler, flywheel, prop hub, prop, carb, firewall mount, etc. (pretty much everything hanging off the firewall) comes in at 4.175 pounds. It that heavy? 1.20 four strokes, and "name brand" gassers all seem lighter than that, though most of them give the specs with no muffler, prop, spinner, etc.

Anyway, I'll be sure to give a flight report once it's in the air. Right I'm just waiting on servos for the surfaces, shouldn't be much longer if they'd hurry and ship them out... :)

I can't seem to upload images, so I'll try linking them from another forum, not sure if it's gonna work though. I'll fix it later tonight if not...

Well my 21cc weedeater was just under 2lbs, so yours seems a little heavy but i went the gas/glow route so i could lose the mag, coil and sparkplug. Now the fuji 23.9 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXNRH4&P=0 is 3lbs 10oz so that's only about 9oz less than yours. How's the CG ?

Not sure yet, no servos! The elevator servo goes all the way back in the tail, which will help keep it back some. I thought about cutting out for the rudder servo too, and moving it in the back. I'll see how it works out with the pull-pull cables first though.

I wonder if the weight of that Fuji includes a prop too? I'm not very far off their weight if you figure the prop and mount too.
