RE: Super Tiger 3250 on gas
Sweet,I've been looking for treads the last couple days on this topic. I just bought a ST G-4500 that I want to covert to gas,and am gonna need lots of help. I'm gonna need to know if/how I need to convert it over to needle bearing. I'll need to know what kind of gas mixture to run in it. And I'll need to know what kind of spark plug to run in it. And what I should do with the carb.

RE: Super Tiger 3250 on gas
You can run it with out converting it to needle bearings.
You just need to keep the oil ratio the same. You may want to look into Gas/Glow. There are two threads here on RCU that cover it pretty well. |
RE: Super Tiger 3250 on gas
I run all mine on 50:1 Klotz synthetic/ KL 310, I run every thing the same so I only have one fuel can and 1 mix , and I enjoy doing the engines. I haven't been staying up with gas glow ,I havent purchased glow fuel in years .

RE: Super Tiger 3250 on gas
Ken,
Have you played with changing the compression ratio at all? Aren't the compression ratios in gas engines generally a tad higher than in glow? Mike |
RE: Super Tiger 3250 on gas
very nice. Does it damage an engine at all running with out exhaust?
|
RE: Super Tiger 3250 on gas
the compresion is up
I don't run them long without mufflers but it shouldn't damage it for short runs, just the ear drums |
RE: Super Tiger 3250 on gas
thanks, thats good to know. I have been dying to get my stihl running, but i dont have a muffler yet. Ill just wear ear plugs

RE: Super Tiger 3250 on gas
I am converting a Stihl FS-72 and would like to know where did you get the prop adapter for your engine? Keep us posted on how it runs.

RE: Super Tiger 3250 on gas
Lambert
Do you sell these carb adapters. I would like to convert my ST 2000 to gas. |
RE: Super Tiger 3250 on gas

|
RE: Super Tiger 3250 on gas
Ken,
I got the conversion parts for my 2500 today. They look great, Thanks. Just waiting on some CM-6 plugs, 10mm plug cap kit and a tap and drill bit. Sorry if this sounds stupid but the brass spacer that goes on the crankshaft, does the inner diameter bevel go towards the crank, or towards the front bearing? Thanks, Mike |
