Good 3.7-4.2 conversion?
61cc Husqvarna saw on eBay, item 2330105871 and is not my engine. looks ideal for cutting up as it is missing saw parts and is cheap.

Good 3.7-4.2 conversion?
thanks for the replies so far.
looks like the red max line is komatsu/zenoah based. arent zenoahs on the heavy side? or is it just because of the flywheel, mag, etc? probably will do synchrospark on all my engines. husky 61 looks good too. have a 88cc. be nice to stay with a couple mfgters.. any more in this range? |
Good 3.7-4.2 conversion?
The 62cc Zenoah saw engines come out lighter that a store bought G62, seem to have an edge on power also. Had 55 of them in 1996 with the idea of offering them as r/c engines. Some went as saws, some were mag engines, some swapped off. Ralph did some also, very light and peppy. And Ron please bid on the husky engine so i do not end up with it.

Good 3.7-4.2 conversion?
Have cut a 100cc partner saw a while back, model 1200. There was an ultralight called the Hummingbird that used 2 of them for power, belt drive off the saw arbor with a 42" prop.

Good 3.7-4.2 conversion?
I also converted a Partner 70cc chain saw which is on a 90" Laser. I'm still using the mag ignition and turn 6800 on a 22X10 wood MA. The combo works real well. Do you think switching to electronic ignition will give me anything?????

My conversion. 54cc Poulan from a Poulan Pro 335 saw. Ken Lambert machined the magneto down to about 1" and stuffed the magnet in it. He also made the prop hub, timing bracket, carb adaptor and flat aluminum mount on the back.
RCIGN1 made the ignition. Engine turns a 22-8 Pro Zinger at 6900-7000RPM. I've recently ordered a Bambula 22-10 in the hopes to get a bit less RPM and a bit more thrust. |
rcpilot
the carb will work better if you turn it around,it will put the linkage straight an the nedles down when the engine is inverted

Thanks for the tip. I figured it out the hard way  about a month ago. :o
My engine is surging at high speed. RPM is 6900 with the 22-8 and 40:1 mix. It surges up and down about 500RPM. Cylinder temp reached 315 farenheit  Is that too high? Thanks |
