EI Magnet Installation

When installing a magnet in a prop hub do you use epoxy to hold the magnet in? or maybe steak the edge of the hole?
I have not done this before and need a little guidance.
Thanks....

I usually stake them.

I use Loctite 648, which is as stong as epoxy, and heat resistant beyond the temperature where the magnet goes weak.
If need be, stake with a few punch marks. I know 3W does it like that. (The centre punch staking)

Thanks for all the inputs. I have epoxy on hand and I will add a stake or two...Brian

CH Ignitions told me to use JB weld. I did, it works. He also told me that Locktite is not 100%. He was not keen on staking them. I imagine that is because the magnet might break.

You don't want to be banging a punch with a hammer around a magnet

You can do it with a press

I use epoxy and then stake them. My converted ST51 has turned over 17,000 with a pipe on it and nary a problem with the magnet. It regularly turns 15,000 with the current setup and has been running for about 2 yrs with the same magnet installation. Like the Energi*er Bun*y it just keeps going and going and going.
