Featherlite 26cc deal
 

I picked up one at OSH for 22-bucks. It is in a blower, I got from the repaired bin. The carb is a two adjustment screw type. The muffler is attached with two bolts rather than the old cheesie spring affair. It is a pretty crappy blower. That gives me all the reason I need to tear it up. Keep checking the refurbished bin, it is lawn care season. 22-bucks is well worth the entertainment value.

I discovered something interesing on my other featherlite engine, you can turn the jug 180-degrees. Nice! that means it will go into my Bud Nosen 1/4 scale Aeronca Champ easier. There is a cut for the exhaust in the firewall. That cut will fit my muffler nicely, but, only on the right side. The factory set up on the engine had the exhaust on the left side. I made my muffler out of a CA glue accelerator can. I put a piece aluminum tubing through the middle of the can lengthwilse. The tubing is perforated with a bunch or 1/8" holes, like a glass pack muffler on a car. It is attached to a homemade header with a silicone? exhaust deflector. It robs 200 RPM but is extremely quiet. For the big floatie Aeronca that will probably be fine.

Orchard Supply Hardware

In FL it might be Sam's Club, Home Depot, or Lowes. Big hardware chains have refurbished stuff. From what I can gather most of these units are perfectly OK. Mostly the person who bought them did not like them or didn't know how to start them.
