The WA-167 is what I use

I think the WT-499 was for the Glow G-23. I have one of those too on a Homelite 30

Look for something the size of those

Congrats on the score.

Now you need to find something big to put it on, something that will handle the weight and if I remember right
something with around 900sq. inches is the base line. I've read of people who used planes with less but that's a good ball park figure.

Something that had a radial engine would be a start. Short nosed with a heavy engine.

You can get Prop hubs reasonable on the auction sight, PM me and I can show you who I have used in the past.

If you have a Carb. with 2 air screws I wouldn't worry about changing the Carb. right away.

Apparently what I have is not a Poulan, simply because it is not coming apart as avator said. I can't find any bolts holding it together.
The cylinder came off the case using a #27 torx bit going down through holes in the cooling fins. The cylinder is not a part of the case.
The muffler is held on with springs. The rod is a single piece with a roller bearing at the crank. Rear intake and rear exhaust.

I would post pictures of the engine but I don't have the camera software on this computer and I put it somewhere where I could not forget where it was. Right.

A friend gave me three weed trimers today and an old Weed Eater blower that looked like crap. I took it apart and was surprised to find the engine looked like new. This one had four springs holding the muffler on and the piston has two rings.Other than that it was just like the one I tried to describe above. I don't think this engine has seen much run time.

Just from my description, can any of you folks tell me who made this engine?

anything by the weedeater name is made by poulan, could be something old, most of the new ones are only 2 springs on the muffler, in the old ones there were several sizes out there, anything from 21 to 32cc, measure the bore and stroke and make a calculation... bore you can in most cases with a digital caliper through the exhaust port, stroke with a digital caliper through the spark plug hole then the old formula pi*bore*bore*stroke/4 (the 4 is because I used the bore instead of the radius of the cylinder)

On the plastic that housed it it said 32 cc. It was kinda hard to believe how good the engine was after coming out of a beat up and dirty outer body. I was asking so I would know what to look for in the prop shaft extensions. It's a long shaft and is a small bit longer than my other one, maybe a quarter to a half of an inch.

I have found a source for Walbro WT 324 carbs at a good price. Would this be a good carb for this engine?I have also found some WT 257's but they may be more than I want to pay for my first lawn equipment engine- airplane engine hack.

WT-324 is obsolete cannot bring up any details

The WT-257 has a 12.7mm venturi and is a little on the large size for your application

The 324 has two needles and a venturi measurement of 11.11mm. I can get them or for that matter anybody can get them to the door for about $18.00. They are new old stock.
