Bernzomatic al3 rod
I used some if this stuff with a map gas torch and seem to have gooten good results. I made a couple of mufflers out of aluminum using plate, the base of a gas cylinder and a weedwacker handle. Everything was turned on a lathe so it was as clean as it gets. The rod flowed nicely and made a nice fillet. Anyone else using it? Does it hold up?

RE: Bernzomatic al3 rod
I used something similar that I bought at a boat show. I "welded" some flat aluminum plates onto a landing gear rig. It held up well for a number of my crash...whoops..landings. Rich

I never had much luck with it, it would stick but any real force on it and it would crack.

RE: Bernzomatic al3 rod
I have used these rods with medium success. The secret seems to be that you have to tin the surfaces first. I find if I do this the joint lasts much longer, It is also necessary to have a good mechanical join before brazing. Vibration is the enemy of this material. Good luck, red
