Which Engine Size???

Hello... This question is for all of you weedwacker converts out there... I am a new convert myself and I am building a Cessna Agwagon from scratch. It will have a ws of 84". I could probably use a 120-size glow, but I really want to put a gasser on it. Unfortunately, I don't know which engine to use. I have a Homelite 25cc lying on the shelf collecting dust. Are there any rules of thumb to go by when choosing engine / prop combos for aircraft size??? Thanks in advance for the info...

RE: Which Engine Size???

The Homelite 25 will be fine

It will pull a 18 X 8 if you put a "28" size carb on it and open up the exhaust. About 7000 rpm

Otherwise you will have to run a 16 X 10 still about 7000 with the stock carb

Keep your eyes open for the 30cc Homelite.
It's the same engine different bore lighter and more power.

RE: Which Engine Size???

Just so you know, you can quickly tell if a Homelite 25/30 series engine is a 30 by looking in the exhaust port. The 25cc engine has a bridge in the exhaust port, and the 30cc does not.

The Homey 30's were getting hard to find, but the newer Ryobi weedeaters I found have Homelite 30cc engines in them. The 30's work quite well.

That's pretty good power for an engine that size
