Free Degree Wheel

1 Attachment(s)
I found a degree wheel that was numbered how I like mine, but with a bunch of extraneous printing on it. Using "Paint", I erased all the printing, "painted" the disk black, and added a picture of my Homelite 30cc powered Christen Eagle. It came out rather nice. I printed mine out on photo paper, and tomorrow I am going to have it laminated in plastic.

Anyone that would like one, just ask and send me your e-mail and I will send you one for free. It is a 5.8 megabyte file, and you can print it out at about an 8 inch diameter if that is what you would like.

use photo shop to enhance the single degree marks, they are in red and hard to see, I changed it to light green so they pop

Hey AV8TOR: Yes, I got a degree wheel from you, I almost have it worn out already, not quite. Only problem, when I cut the hole in the middle, I destroyed the canopy on the biplane: Oh well, I will just run off another one. Thanks again- Flathead

RE: Free Degree Wheel

Glad you have gotten good use out of it. I must have printed mine out a touch bigger, as on mine the center hole is just above the canopy...

Take care,

Thank you

Ok, just now sent it to you. If you go to an office store, sometimes they will laminate it in plastic for you. Or you can buy the laminate and do it yourself. Also, it works best when it doesn't bend easily, (Ha ha... almost said it works better when it's stiff!), so either glue your printed wheel to stiff cardboard or thin plywood. Mine gets lots of use!

Your degree wheel is pretty nice.
I like to use this degree wheel or timing disc. I print them out and glue them to some thin cardboard or card stock. I make them up as I need them. Using one wheel doesn't work well as many engines have different crankshaft stub sizes that make it a problem.
It is generic and I can pencil in or write notes on it too.

Besides being pretty, one of the things I like about mine is how it is numbered. Often times you want a degree measurement that is before or after bottom dead center. The way mine is numbered allows you to more easily obtain those type measurements.

For those interested, the airplane is my dearly departed CMP Christen Eagle biplane, and the pic was taken at an estuary near San Carlos, Guaymas, Mexico. It died when pieces from a supposedly gasoline proof fuel stopper caused the engine to quit, just as I was trying to cross a concrete block wall on short final to land at a short strip on a windy day. Wasn't much left...
