45 or 46 cc
Have been bitten by the "converison bug" since converting the Ryobi.I have new 33cc homelite to convert but I'm in a fever to buy myself a birthday gift. :D Undecided on the Homlite 45 or Poulan 46. Machine work is not a problem. Do they both weigh about the same ? About the same hp? Will keep the mag in both cases. Which one seems to be working out the best. I've no particular airframe in mind. But will test on "Ryan's Rebel". Thanks for any info .Dennis PS The Rebel makes a great "Sunday Flyer" with the Ryobi.

There's not enough difference in them mechanically or powerwise to get very excited about.
You should consider which one you can get at the best price? It's been comming out as the Poulan bare powerhead from Lawn Station. However that could change? The only consistant source on the web that I know about for the Homelite is Cummings Tool. They are the people that come around to the Holiday Inns or the American Legion and set up as a discount tool liquidation outlet. The Homelite is a Timberman (reconditioned?) with a 20" X .325" chain on it. I think the original Timberman was only a 18" X 1/4" chain? But who cares about the chain? This nice chain just makes it cost more. Enjoy, Jim |

Most of the gassers in the club are the zdz's, 3w's, etc..only about 4 of the members had them...
I got the bug for conversions after hitting the 5 flights per gallon range with glow... Did up a cheepie Ryobi 31 with CH ignition on a monster size Big Eliminator. 30 minute flights on a 20oz tank are easy.. Now everyone is scratching their heads and thinking of dragging out the old weed eaters setting in the sheds. I'm being asked more and more questions on where to get parts and how to do it... I just bought some additive at the local race shop the makes the exhaust smell like cherries..Lets see what they think about that.. Still waiting on the conversion kit for the 46 BB1 |

I don"t know about poulan. I have 4 33 cc homeys and 3 45cc. They run great!! Just got a 45cc on ebay with a broken handle for 60.00 plus 20 shipping. The hardest part of the conv. is removing the motor from the saw.
