Default Lama v4 repairs - help

I bought my grandson a Lama V4 for his birthday a month ago and his dad crashed it. Now the top rotors don't spin and they will be visiting us in two weeks; grandson expects Grandpa to fix it (go figure). What parts will I probably need to fix this? I will order them online to be here before they are, since I haven't found a local hobby shop that carries Esky parts.

Thanks
C. Buck

the main gear broke?? hard crash misaligned the gear mesh?? not so sure for this as my lama 4 is still alive after thousands hard crashes ! only problem i've got is the brushed motors goes crazier and crazier due to the worn off carbon brushes, i reckon...

My guess is the connection between shaft A (the longer shaft) and the lower gear is loose. It could just be that the fasteners have come loose, or the gear might be cracked or stripped. It would probably be wise to get both a gear A and gear B, as eventually they'll probably both need replacement. I'd get the turbo shaft, too, while you're ordering as it makes the heli much easier to fly without fear of blade strikes or the flybar coming off.

Turbo Shaft:

Gear for shaft A:

Shaft B plus gear:

Harden Blades (definitely more durable):

I've ordered spares a couple of times from rchelicoptershop and they've been quick to ship and arrive. Of course, I'm in Australia so it might be different shipping to America.
