Default Someone please explain.......

I just got my Lama V3 in the mail today and while charging the battery I was reading through the manual and I dont quit understand some of the terms. Could really use your help.

Two things I need help with. Understanding the Proportion Trimmer and the Gain Trimmer. What would the heil be doing in the air for me to have to adjust the Proportion Trimmer and also the same thing for the Gain Trimmer?

I charged the battery for about an hour and flew the heli for about 5 minutes to make sure everything was in order. All seemed fine, but the heli keeps wanting to lean to the left and come back a bit. Also turns to the left a bit as well. What do I adjust on the 4-in-1 to balance this out? please help anyone. Thanks, Joe

Joey,
the proportional adjustment is for when the heli keeps spinning clockwise or counterclockwise in an uncontrolled manner, the gain is for the gyro sensitivity if the tail wags side to side adjust the gain accordingly.Adjust the trims on the tx first for adjustments then resort to the adjustments on the 4n1.also make sure the swash is level then make fine adjustments from the tx.If you need to adjust the 4n1 be sure to disconnect then reconnect the battery after adjustments

Ok thank you for clearing that up for me. I also noticed that my blade tips were a little beat up so I threw new ones on. I'm sure that'll help. Do you know if the Xtreme blades will fit without having to get new grips?

I just did a test run in the living room and made some adjustments now that I understand what does what, and I'm good to go. Thank you very much. I also ordered some new Xtreme blades. Also thinking about swapping out the stock tail with the Xtreme set-up. What do you think?

IMO... the Lama3 is a great starter heli.... To find out if you want to stay in the hobby and to teach you orientation. I wouldn't spend any coin blig'n it out. You won't get the bang for the bucks. Save your money.

If you are going to stay in the hobby, and I'm betting you will, then saving your money will be for a better heli. One that you can learn further on. I actually bought my Lama3 after I bought my King2 to help teach me with the orientation. I love my K2 and sure like my lama.

But this is only my opinion...

happy fly'n

I'm not looking to bling it out. I just want to get something on there that wont break. Stock parts are never really the best and in the long run can cost you big bucks. It's always good to look for aftermarket parts that'll last longer. That's all I'm trying to do. I have the Xtreme Blades on the way. I cracked the tail a bit but she still fly quite nice so I'm not to concerned with that. But will have to replace sooner or later.

If I put the Xtreme tail on my V3, do I have to change with landing gear and Batter Holder as well? I dont think I do I'd just wanted to ask to make sure. Thanks guys for all the help. Joe

Blades for me are the biggest thing I replace all the time so I buy them cheap and bulk. I usually buy 20 sets for around $12. Same quality as the stock blades so they will break when you smack something pretty good. I CA'd the other plastic bits when they cracked or broke but thats about it. You should be breaking less on the Lama as you get better at flying. These aren't trick heli's but for fly'n in cicles and back and forth in a small windless area. The only upgrade I'd get is the longer center shaft. to keep the blade strikes down. Other than that... IMO the other stuff just isn't worth it on this heli... unless its your only heli you are planning to stay with.

happy hovering

LOL, I seem to have this obsessive compulsion to upgrade my stuff... even though I've got 11 heli's I still took my stock v4 and started upgrading... I now have no v4 parts left in it (except for the servos) and I guess I could just build a new v4 from all the pieces.
