HBK2

Fellows is it normal for the stock motor on the HBK2 to run hot? I am running a 11.1 volt 1000 ma LiPo. Thanks mike

Mike

That is normal and a part of the reason that some claim short stock motor lives. Breaking the motor in using the water method has been suggested so that the brushes match the curvature of the armature before the motor is put into service. The best solution is to go brushless.

Thanks Skypup, I am just getting back into this hobby and have never fooled with the mini helis. I have been off the sticks for 8 years.
If I do anything wrong in posting like posting in the wrong forum or whatever let me know. Mike

Same here Mike. Everyone said it was like riding a bicycle and that you "never" forget. For me it was like riding a bicycle alright......like riding a bicycle down hill with no brakes at forty plus miles an hour. [X(]

Good luck, good flying, and welcome to the RCU helicopter forum!

Thats the funniest quote i've ever heard, you should have added "with the front wheel falling off" thats what it feels like for me.

Good luck with the flying again mikemaupin, you'll be fine if you take your time.
