Need Help Please

[sm=confused.gif] Hi all, My friend has a new E-Sky Belt CP & using a new Spektrum DX6 radio system. All is set to factory specks. The problem we are having is when you give it lift "Pitch" it gives it negative so it wont lift needless to say. When we reverse the servo it messes everything elce up "Left & Right & Fowaed & reverse" I think the tail rotor is still OK "Left & Right" Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Yall!

RE: Need Help Please

Check the swash Mix in the radio menu if you have positive go negative, that was my problem, I have mine at -90

RE: Need Help Please

Paul is correct. Mine was also the same. In the swash mixing, just change the pitch from negative to positive or positive to negative and it should work just fine.

Correction in my setup

in my swash mix I have AILE at 60% ELEV at 60% and PIT. at -46%

My radio is the JR 9303 but you should have the same kind of setup in the DX6.

RE: Need Help Please

Hi all,

I'm running the same setup, an E-Sky Belt-CP with a Spektrum DX6. Does anyone have a guide to setting this radio up for this heli. I've dropped my self in it by going from an E-sky Tx to the Spektrum and there is a world of a difference.

I'm having trouble seting up my CCPM, when I have my sticks in the middle the swash plate is level but on full throttle the elevator rises higher than the pitch and aileron. I've also had to reverse my aileron servo in order to get my swash plate to role left and right, otherwise it went up and down (remaining level) when I moved the aileron stick left an right. Is this normal?

I have CCPM switched on on the Tx and the mix is 60%-60%-60% for Elevator-Aileron-Pitch?

Does any one have a good setup or setup guide for this Tx and Heli? I'm new to Heli's and started out with a E-sky CP2 RTF kit, I leant to fly on this and now need some help with setting up the ARTF Belt-CP

Many thanks for your help.

PS. I'm using the E-sky 8g servos at the minute as I was told there wasn't any real difference between the E-sky and Spektrum in terms of performance.

RE: Need Help Please

Hi,

I think I have made some progress, I have set my ccpm mix to 60% 60% -46% and that has improved things alot. The aileron works perfect and the swash plate returns flat after left and right movement. The swash plate will ony also rise and fall perfectly horizontially for pitch and also role fore and aft for elevator. So the movement of the swash plate is perfect for stick movement.... almost!

The problem is now that the pitch is on the right stick and the Elevater is on the left (this is a mode 2 handset with throttle on the left). Everything else is still correct ie Tail rotor is on left stick and aileron is on the right stick. The motor spead is still on the left stick (throttle).

If any one has any tips or set up guide I'd be very greatful in deed.

Regards
David

I could be wrong here and someone correct me if I am as I dont have a dx6 yet, but soon. But the Trex has the same 120degree swash system as the king2 so you should be able to check out the Finless Bob Videos on setup and get all your setting. Again just a thought someone correct me if im wrong.

Where are your servos plugged into the rx? Sounds like one or more may be in the wrong slot. Left to right, on the AR6000, it should be:

BAT - nothing, unless you use an external BEC
THR - ESC lead - was ch 3 in Esky rx
AILE - Aileron servo - was ch 1 in Esky rx
ELE - Elevator servo - was ch 2 in Esky rx
RUD - Gyro lead - was ch 4 in Esky rx
GER - Gyro remote gain lead - was ch 5 in Esky rx, if used
AUX - Pitch servo - was ch 6 in Esky rx

RE: Need Help Please

Thanks for the response shizack,

This was my first thought as well, I've checked again and it seems to be correct. In the Spektrum instruction it has a diagram that identifies the servos by name and channel. This was very helpful to me as I'm new to Helicopters.

In their instructions they have listed Ch1 as Throttle and this is going to my ESC. The AR6000 Rx uses descriptions not channels but I think I have it right. The descriptions match up to your descriptions above but not the channel numbers. But then again you have listed the E-Sky Channels but I thought these would have been the same? I bought the ARF kit not the RTF kit so I don't have the E-sky Rx to reference. The E-Sky manual only lists descriptions too.

I've listed what I have connected below and described where the servo is so you can check that I've not misunderstood anything myself:-
(I've listed the Rx description first, the numbers in brackets are the channels according to the Specktrum instructions)
BAT - empty
THR - ESC (1)
AILE - Aileron (servo on left side of swash plate when lookng from behind the Heli) (2)
ELE - Elevator (servo at the front of the swash plate) (3)
RUD - to my Gyro which then goes to my rudder servo (4)
GER - Empty (5)
AUX - Pitch (servo on right side of swash plate when lookng from behind the Heli) (6)

Many thanks again for taking the time to respond to this thread.

Cheers
David

Any one any ideas on this as at the minute I'm grounded.

I've emailed Spektum and haven't heard anything back from them yet. Fingers crossed at least.

RE: Need Help Please

Do you think you may have monkeyed things up by accidentally setting up a programmable mix? In the parameter following "RVU", and just before "CCP", what's on the screen? At thia point it should be "OF" or "A11" with a "0" as the setting. You may have accidentally programmed elevator to respond to throttle. Seems unlikely, like accidentally spinning a combination lock open, but I suppose it's possible. Worth a look.

I had a simular problem when i set up with my futaba radio.
Turned out i had pitch and aileron servo plugs reveresed.
Not sure about spectrum but with mine ch 6 is the left servo looking from rear & ch1 is the right servo looking from the rear.

RE: Need Help Please

I have it sorted at long last! I thought I'd write a response so at least people can see what the solution was this time.

I spoke to a technician at Spektrum last night and he has told me that reversing servos when using ccpm is not a good idea and I should be doing it by reversing the %mix for each servo.

So I set each servo to norm and reversed the aileron % mix, this didn't work at all. I eventually got it with everything working correctly apart from the role in the swash plate, the only way I could sort it was to reverse the pitch servo and all was perfect?

My settings are now -60% -60% 60% with the pitch servo reversed. I dont pretend to understand why this works but I would be interested in finding out. I did try to go -60% on the pitch as well but this did not reverse the servo.

All works now ok though, spun up last night and have tracking set and will set the pitch tonight and be ready for a maiden Belt-CP flight this evening! Can't wait.

Thanks for all your help crimsonrain22, shizack and bkind.

Good stuff, so it was like my radio but instead of neg on pitch you went positive and neg on the ele and ail:)

Happy flying :D

RE: Need Help Please

hi guys, I am having simalar problems with my JR Max66 radio, I run the receiver like this:

1 Throttle (ESC)
2 Aileron
3 Elevator
4 Rudder
5
6 Pitch
B

It seems that as I throttle up it moves the 2 right servos and barely moves the left servo (pitch), I have my CCP mix as: -60% (ail) +60% (ELE) -60% (PIT)

Anyone have any ideas??? it doesnt seem to want to lift at nearly full throttle.

I have taken a few videos to show what I am talking about

ok here is the video...showing 0 to 100% throttle and the servos moving with that, it looks all out of whack to me...another video to follow with my settings on the choppers JR Max66 radio, can u see anything wrong?? it looks like the pitch servo is not moving much....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRZ1IJXryUw

here is a video of the settings for the Belt CP for my JR Max66 or XP662, can you see any problems?? I appreciate any feedback

Im really keen to get this thing to fly...the stress is killing me..lol

Are your blades traking in the same plane? What kind of pitch readings are you getting. Sorry I am not familiar with that radio to see if anything is wrong.

RE: Need Help Please

I think I may have fixed it...I adjusted the pitch up a bit and turned the A11 or RVU setting off and it seems to hver just above 1/2 throttle, still a little wavey in the air but I put that down to me ;)
