HBK2 Correct Steps??????????????
OK - Radd say's I should be ready! Before I "go", I want to make sure I've got everything set-up properly - would anyone like to volunteer to put the following in the correct sequence (if I'm out of whack), (and please ADD anything I've forgotten)???
1) check all screws/fasteners 2 level up servo horns/swashplate 3) make sure flybar paddles aligned/square 4) check all blade tensioning 5) set correct blade tracking/pitch 6) get COG as close as possible 7) adjust tail rotor (by moving servo on boom) I know I'm being anal, but I never plan on crashi.............OH S**T! Thanks to all for the help! Ken |
RE: HBK2 Correct Steps??????????????
That's not being anal. Those are the correct steps to take before most every flight. Anal would be: making sure the tail rotors are vertical before spool up; making sure the rod doesn't stick out of the canopy grommets; getting the front of the skids at the same angle; setting the main blades parallel to the boom before liftoff; etc. All unnecessary. I do these things. Kind of a superstition thing, I guess.
I would add to #3: make sure the flybar control arms are set so that if they were a single, solid piece, they'd make a level square around the top of the head. Sounds like you're ready for your first cra..., uh, flight. Keep us posted. A noob who does it right is rare around here. |
RE: HBK2 Correct Steps??????????????
That is not anal. That is making sure you, your helicopter, or any thing or one around you are safe. Thats what I did to my belt CP and no crashes and plenty of fun.

Besides, what's wrong with being anal?? Hmmm?? What??
Seriously, though, as long as you are safe, do what makes the hobby fun for *you*! |
