Is this Gyro drift?
 

So, I'm having a blast hovering my new Belt...it's just awesome! The only annoyance is the fact I have to pretty much feed it right rudder all the time to correct for left nose drift. I've been playing with the trims, and I'm able to get it to kinda even out, but it still seems to drift a bit. This is my first heli, so I'm a noob with most of it, including gyros...I've been flying in my cold garage at night, and I've picked up that gyros don't like cold? Do you guys think this is drift, or is something whacked in my setup? It's the stock Esky rate gyro...would a HH gyro help here? Still seems to "grab" the tail after harder rudder inputs...just has that annoying little drift!

Other than that, the thing flies beautifully out of the box...looks like I was one of the lucky ones!

Yea bro a Head Hold Gyro will keep the tail in one spot

i USE A TELEBEE ZOOM work great after i use the sub trim to get rid fo servo creep.

Have you tried moving the tail rudder servo forward in small increments on the boom? Be sure to center your trim
first- hover and see if it's better and move it more or less as needed.

This is the same for me. I have decided not to address the tail until im done with the head and such. I have adjusted the tail servo location and gain back and forth endlessly but still have not found a combination that holds. I am not saying the tail is out of controll it just always needs rudder one way or the other depending on servo location. Unfortunatly I think I made a mistake by not addressing the tail first because I am learning to fly with having to hold the tail in place and find it dificult to fly when the tail is semi balanced. I started improving the setup and parts on the head first trying to battle drift wile learning to hover Now that I can hover and feel reasonable in control the tail is an starting to be an anoyance. I find myself loosing the bird now, more, because i'm paying to much attention to the tail. I do not have the experiance to now the differance in feel between rate and HH but I will soon.

All I can say is move the servo forward to reduce nose left and increase the gain on the gyro untill it starts to hunt then back it off a hair. I also moved the ball out all the way on the servo arm as far as it would go without over travel of the slider on the tail. This gave much better feel for me as it quickend the response to input.

I'm pretty new at this, but I believe, and any body correct me if I'm wrong, that with out a HH gyro you will always fight the tail becuase of the counter rotation of the blades spinning. the more throttle you apply will increase the counter rotation torque on the body, do to the blades spinning harder, this will make the tail turn to the right. To every action there is a counter reaction. you will also notice that as your battery looses power your input on the rutter will change, so if you are trying to adjust that with your trim, you will always be trying to trim it out. You will always be having to apply some rutter stick input to keep the taill steady without a HH gyro, and that input will be constantly changing as you change throttle input, or as your battery looses power.
