CF Tail Boom
 

Bent my last tail boom and am thinking of the esky CF replacment, are there any negatives to using the CF to the ALU booms? I would think the carbon boom will just flex instead of bend when I pop the backend down a little too hard.

I need to find some 8g servo gear sets 6 of my 8 servos have bad gears and Chines new years means every body is out of stock. I even put a HS-50 on the tail to move that one up front. Seems like every little crash no matter how slight i'm taking out gearsets. It's funny because at first when I was crashing hard or at least seemed harder the servos held up great.

I replaced mine with the CF and don't see any issues at all.

cf will help because it's lighter but don't expect it to flex that much in a crash. it's a tube not a sheet so you have more chance of it cracking.

if you have tail heavy issues like i do. then the cf should help fix that, but druss is right about the aluminum being more durable. small bends can be bent back into shape, though this is only useful on heli's with tail motors. cf will just simply snap

I have just installed the CF tail boom and the only issue I had was that it was a little too small in diameter it would just pull right out and would have not be able to keep the belt tight. My fix was to rough up the end and add some CA to it then shape it back round now I know it will stay tight.

Thanks that is more the info I was refering to. I know the CF will crack and splinter but I was hoping for it to take a harder hit than it does to bend a stock boom.
