Co-Comanche Drifting Problem

Ok, so this has probably been tackled a million times here, but its my first day here, so any help is much appreciated.

I just replaced the bottom blade pivot on my co-comanche and when I put it back together it started "drifting" significantly to forward and to the left.

I have already tried calibrating the controller to compensate and also turned it off and on in various combos (copter then control, control then copter) and it still does it.

I'm wondering if maybe the electric steering pinon (i have no idea what to call any of these parts) that controls the motion of the bottom blade set is screwed up or what?

Any help is great.

Well, you gotta make sure the swashplate is level. sometimes you can mess that up when installing new parts. also make sure everything is tightened up real nice and make sure your blades are tracking correctly.

Hi

I have the same problem. The chopper drifts to the left even at full right trim. How did you resolve the problem? Thanks

As Imalama said, I'd bet that the problem is related to the swashplate. If you're drifting left then the swashplate is likely tilted a bit in that direction. There are two linkages connecting to your swashplate. The port (left) side one controls forward and backward movement. The starboard (right) side one controls left and right movement. To correct for a leftward drift, you would want to shorten the starboard side linkage a little bit (by turning it CW, if memory serves). You'll have to experiment a bit to find the sweet spot, but it shouldn't bee too much trouble.

If the problem also includes forward drift, as the original poster mentioned, then that can be corrected by shortening the port side linkage in the same way.

I had the same problem on my Hunter after I installed the turbo shaft, which is pretty much the same as the co-comanche and the lama, except for the body style.

Hey Bill,

Try [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=8876563]this[/link] to level the swashplate:D
