simulator with idle up switch response
Can anyone recommend a flight simulator program that will connect to my Futaba 6EXH transmitter that will simulate the function of the Idle Up switch ? I'm looking for a USB connection and CD that will best duplicate actual 3D flying. The Esky Flight Simulator that I have now does not have the Idle Up switch on the transmitter.
Thanks, Don |

Real Flight G4 comes with a transmitter. USB connections and you can share models on knifeedge. The best that I have seen so far.

I have the Phoenix Rc sim (www.phoenix-sim.com) and it works great with my 6EXHP & 7CHP radios. I can set up the expo and dual rates, but I have not tryed the idel up mode to see if thet will work. I think it will work the the sim in any way you can program the radio so it should do it. You can ask there tech support about it and any time I have questions they responded quickly with answers. It does require a special adaptor cord as there std end for the usb cord is for a JR radio, but you can get the adaptor from them also. Check it out as it looks and works just like what I have seen of the RealFlight stuff and the best part is as they come out with new planes, helies or backgrounds they are a free down load unlike the others that make you purchase the anything new. They even have several versions or the HBK2 so even better. I got it direct from them for like $160 shipped so the price was better than most of the others.

R4 and Phoenix are two of the best along with Reflex XTR, you just have to order them with the right connector.

The $39 (shareware) ClearView flight simulator that I use supports idle-up mode controlled by the function keys on the PC keyboard. It works perfectly "out of the box" with the Esky USB flight controller, supports photo-realistic flying fields (that you can create yourself with 360 degree digital camera images), and a ton of freely downloadable helicopter (and airplane) models! Buy it once, and you get all future upgrades for free. It lets you try flying for about 5 minutes before you buy. I've found it well worth it!
The ClearView web site is: http://rcflightsim.com/download.html which has links to other sites that contain free models and landscapes. |
