crash
crashed my belt cp over the weekend.... been a long time since i crashed so now i have sumtin to do in my spare time lol. Didnt break much, just going to replace the shafts and maybe a slightly bent flybar (not sure yet) im also going to be replacing the shaft where the belt grasps onto on the heli end of the belt. How do i go about this, i have never replaced it before.

Not me either, but someone on other forum break that as often as they crash.

RE: crash
Shaft where it grasps onto the heli??? You might want to post a pic or describe this a little better |
RE: crash
you mean the rotor belt drive shaft? you have to completely take the frame apart to get it...well you can cheat, and loosen most of the screws, and remove the screws in the rear half completely, and pry it slightly and get it out, but i do not recommend that...its a fun little part to swap out, you get to get and dirty with your helicopters parts if you havent before...
basically your going to strip everything off the frame, servos, motor, esc, rx, gyro, head assembly, tail shaft, skids.... |

[8D]Sounds like the Belt Drive Pully.
You do not need to strip down the frame, the plastic frame has plenty of flex to do it the way described below. First is it bent or damaged in any way? If not leave it alone! If it ain't broke don't fix it. If it is damaged here are the replacement instructions for a stock plastic frame: 1. Remove the tail boom. Leave the tail gear box and belt intact on/in the boom. 2. Remove the servo that is directly above the belt drive pully. 3. Remove the 4 screws that hold the tail boom mount together. 4. Remove the 4 screws that hold the belt drive pully bearings in place in the frame. 5. At this point you should be able to gently spread the rear of the frame and remove the pully assembly with the bearings on it intact. 6. You will need to remove the C-clip on the top of the belt drive gear to remove the belt drive gear to get the upper bearing off. 7 Reverse the process to put it all back together. Hope this helped.
