We are looking foward to the Annual Auction. My brothers and I will have a couple of things for sale. I will be selling a Hangar 9 Toledo Special.
Here is a youtube video of the Toledo special I will be selling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLvIkZmV_rQ&feature=fvsr
Does anybody have any info on the ESM model Cessna 185, any good or bad points about the model?
thanks

The Toledo Special is a nice plane. I'm going to be torn between going to the auction or heading down to E-fest in Champain IL. Either one will surely cost me money!

Well, Have not seen much action on this thread.
Less then a month to go then its off to the action.
So, this what I have to bring down. Wife says to buy more I need to sell a few.

Well before a sell my Toledo Special I thought I would fly it one more time with such nice weather. Here is a link of the flight
with help from the Black sheep squadron. I will also include with the Toledo Special a Go Pro Hero camera standard definition.
Looking forward to the auction. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evRCR7PrlyA

AEROWORKS EDGE 540T 35% (airframe)
Wing Span: 106"
Weight: 23# fully loaded
Set up for a 3W-106 or a DA-100.

Hi Everyone,
Here are some pictures. See you at the auction
I have another plane I will be selling. It was bought at a auction in South Dakota. I am selling it for my brother inlaw who is not into RC stuff.
Here are some specs I found out. I think its a Extra 260 don't know the manufacturer, balsa and ply construction. It's a gas engine, good compression, it has a bennet exhaust, push\pull rudder, dual servo setup for the elevator, gas tank. Its wingspan is 85 inches, 64 inches long, weight 15lbs to 20lbs.

Hello!
I have a Royal B-25 kit that was given to me several years ago. I started working on it and have lost interest. I have the original box, plans and instructions that came with the kit. Also a have a set of Rhom-Air retracts to go along with the model as well. Everything is in great shape, the model just needs someone to finish her up. As she sits the wings, fuse and tail are about 60% complete. I have the original spun aluminum cowls and clear plastic windsheild and nose. Hate to see it go, but I hoping someone will complete and have fun
See ya at the auction

Hi thanks for the info on the TR 260.
When I pulled the cowl off, all I found was the name of exhaust "Bennet". The only other info I found on the engine was a made in Canada
sticker on the engine itself.
The airplane does have servos in it, but they are ancient, along with reciever. It is a very heavy airplane!
I hope this info helps.

Wow! The auction is coming up this Saturday!
We're expecting a BIG turn out so to streamline the auction we are looking to reduce the number of swap meet items.
The check -in team will be reviewing items before they are accepted. They may suggest that items such as: a box of wheels, a stack of used wings or a box of scrap wood would not sell for the minimum $20 BID.
I'm looking forward to see everyone there!

Hi , I wanted to let you know that I attended your auction yesterday. A group of us came down from Bemidji, and this was my first time attending because I am fairly new to flying.
I thought you guys put on a good event, and it seemed very well organized. My problem is not with you, and I understand there is not a whole lot that you or the club can do about it, but I wanted to tell you about my poor first impression with someone selling at your auction.
I purchased Item #836c. "electric BlueHawk with new motor, controller, servos"
The airplane looked to be somewhat of a project, but I paid what I thought it was worth because the seller indicated "new" motor, controller, servos.
When I got it home, I pulled off the cowl, and inspected the motor, to find out that it is in fact nowhere near new. the label is faded, the windings are black and charred, and the stator (I think that's what its called, the part that the wires wrap around) had seperated from the rest of the motor base. Its a great planes rimfire motor.
So, not only is it not a new motor, but it is burned out, and completely unusable.
The other electronics are also not "new", but are at least in working order.
I fully understand buyer beware at auctions, but there is no way to inspect the inside of a brushless motor that is inside of a cowl. Buying a plane that has a motor in unknown condition is one thing, but buying one where the seller stated "new" is completely different.
This leads me to beleive that this person was knowingly trying to screw someone over.
I understand that I, or you really have no recourse here, but if you happen to know who seller #836 is, you maybe want to mention to him/her that doing this type of thing is not cool, and not the way to get people to come back to what I imagine is a very good fund raiser for your club.
Also, if you know this person personally, just remind him that the airplane gods are watching, that karhma is a b-h, and that he probably shouldn't fly anything expensive for awhile.
I will probably return to your auction next year, as there are no hard feelings towards your club, it is just a shame that people have to suck like that.
Thanks for listening to my rant,
Jeff

Jnail,
I feel your pain! Two years ago, I bought a 40cc gas engine that said, in very small letters, engine needs minor work - that 'minor work' ended up costing me more, in parts alone, than I paid for the engine itself!
I learned a lesson that year - I haven't bought anything I couldn't inspect VERY closely prior to bidding!
It is very unfortunate that somebody took the liberty of saying the motor was new, but don't let that deter you from coming back to the auction. TCRC has no way of guaranteeing the condition of each item that goes through the auction, but they certainly are a great bunch of guys! I have been going to the auction for several years, and except for the one engine, I have always had good experiences with everything I have bought!
You also learned a lesson this year, and I'll bet you look at items much closer next year. By no means did I mean to insult you with my last remark - you'll just be much more cautious going forward!
G.Barber
By the way, I didn't end up with a single purchase this year. I set a $200.00 limit for myself, and the items I wanted I got out-bid on by someone who wanted those items worse than I did. [:@] Oh well, I went home with $200.00 in my pocket!!! That's an OK feeling too!
