Default Perry,GA Swap Meet Pics

We drove from Memphis, TN to Perry for the meet. It was a long boring drive but overall, DAMN WORTH IT! I came away with about $1000 worth of stuff for about $350. Stan got one bag of assorted hardware (he assorted it) that was worth about $400 retail and he paid $15 for it. The whole group I went with all made out like bandits. The deals were AWESOME! There were more planes and gizmos there than I have ever seen.

They had two Huge buildings wall to wall with RC stuff. I truly regret not pre-approving for a second mortgage before going down there. Anyone who doubted that the drive might be worth it - IT IS! I'm sure there is a bigger one somewhere, but this was plenty big for me. I'll attach a few assorted pics just to give some idea of the size of it.

Here are some more of the tables. I was mostly taking pics of planes that were interesting or that I liked the trim on, but it still shows the background pretty good.

Here are a couple more of the tables, and one with Gator and Foxbat at Paul Swansons (Burrito Designer) table. And another of Gator and Stan talking to Mrider (Mikey2) and another guy.

Her are a few of the Indoor Flying they had at a third building. It was really cool, but a little tight when there were 5-6 planes in the air at time... There were a few mid-airs including Gator and Paul playing pin the prop on the fuse. Paul had a small cut to the fuse but was still flyable. Gator needed a lil glue but was ok too. Paul even decided to violate Gator for a moment once Gator got his plane back.

Here is the result of a mid air with a bipe and a ufo then a couple of the bipe being repeatedly violated! The last one is Stan playing with his new electric helicopter. He was having trouble getting it up I think

Overall great fun, I'm really glad I made it. Not everyone in all of these pics knew they were being taken, if anyone is offended please let me know and I'll make them larger before I repost them... J/K

Hey Stan, I know what you mean about the haggling, Friday I'm pretty stern with my price just to see what I can get. But by late friday night I loosen up and saturday morning I'm pretty flexible. The problem this year was that nobody even really asked me how much I wanted for my stuff!

I started out asking about $325 for the big profile, I thought it was fair and priced it kinda high. Some guy came along and offered me $250 and I said NA, but I'll take $300, he said Na and Said $270, I said Na $280 and he SAID OK! I was happy, he was Happy and it was fun to haggle....I hope he enjoys the airplane!

The only guy that made me laugh was some young kiddo offered me $30 for my 1/4 SIG 300XS ARF that I was asking $300 to start with. NOBODY was even interested in it anyway. And they would have had to ask cause I don't mark the prices on my airplanes. AGIAN I priced high so I had room to haggle and get what I want. Shoot, most people wouldn't have believed that I would have taken $200 for it but then nobody asked either. O-well the airplane is going to get a make over, light'n it up and 3-d the tail surfaces. Then I'm gonna mount my OS 1.60 in it. O I told the kid that I would take it outside, stomp on it, then run over it with my car THEN I told him I might sell it to him for $30 bucks. He laughed I laughed we had fun, Anyway thanks to that kid I got a chuckle for the day joking around!

I went with 9 came home with 4
Tcraft with all servos sold for $175
TT BIpe with ALL servos and TT FS 54 sold for $200
Orange outlaw delta sold for $75
GS540P profile OMP sold for $280 with throttle servo
and I gave the Transparent Green Fun fly to a friend...

NEXT year I ain't sell'n nothing, only buying....

I actually talked to you several times and asked a few prices too but no major conversations. I told Gator about that huge profile and he went looking for it but I guess you had already sold it. I may have a few other pics of your stuff and don't even know it. I took almost 150 pics, but obviously I can't post em all lol. I just posted a few of the ones that looked cool and stood out.

foxbat22003
I just bought all the stuff for my first foamy and the Burrito is my first profile. Luckily for me, Paul and Gator live 20 minutes down the road so I hope to get some flying lessons from them. Stan is actually pretty good, he just won't admit it lol. He's the one I fly with every weekend and he's a hell of allot better than I am. If I'm lucky I'll get some lessons before he does so I can get down on the deck first

icrashbipes: Small world isn't it? I hope ya like the airplane, BME 44 should be awsome on it. You have to let me know how it does..and AWW stop it, your making me blush!! Hey it was nice meeting ya too!

rik756: you got any pictures with you in it? If I talked with ya I'm sure I'd remember your face. I too, usually take too many pictures but STUPID me dropped my Cannon A70 on the Peter Pan Flight ride at Disney early in FEB while chasing after my 2 year old son. I ordered a new Cannon A80 but it's STILL not here. Otherwise I would have been picture happy at the show....

If you can't find out here, try emailing Norm Deputy. He's the guy that takes reservations for anyone that reserved a table at the show. Maybe he could help you... [email protected]

I don't guess I realized they were actually selling the kits. The guy with the yellow one was just a few tables over from us and there was another one over on the wall that I think was green. They were pretty but a little too far outta my range so I didnt get much info on them. I would love to know who got the Maroon and Silver Elipse that was in front of the concession stand. It was gorgeous and I didn't manage to get a pic of it...

wagas, I dont have any pics of me there... I seem to be the one behind the camera most of the time.

I bought the green cropduster, but never had time to talk to the man selling the kits of the one in the picture, they were nice. Too much stuff and not enough time!

LOL, this is insane. I prolly met, talked to or was standing next to a bunch of you on here. I never would have thought it.... We (Stan and I) thought it was well worth the drive. I can't imagine some of those venders driving all that way just to set up for 1-2 days though...

I walked away with a White 4* 40 with Navy Blue and Red stripes, motor and everything minus bat/reciever in it for $150. NIB Enya .15 for $20 and some electric stuff at some great prices.

What "BEST" deals did you guys come away with ?

I don't know if it was a best deal but I got a 3w75i with Canister Muffler for $400 other than thaty I only bought a roll of monokote for $5, Tricycle Gear Mech retracts for $20 and 4 bottles of super glue @ $4.50 each...This was the first year I really didn't buy much.
