The Prince George's County Radio Control Club (PGRC) is hosting its 2nd electric model aircraft fly-in on Saturday June 23, 2007 at its Swanson Road field, off MD Route 301 south of Bowie, MD.

The field features a 40x400 foot paved runway, a 100x800 foot grass strip, and ample pit areas. Flying starts at 9:00 AM and goes until 7:00 PM. AMA Membership card required to fly, No registration fee. Vendors welcome, bring your own tables. Raffle prizes, food, drinks available.

Directions to the field:

We're 3 weeks away, and I've been working on the raffle prizes. We've got the main prize in-hand, a Hyperion 25e Mustang ARF, and it's a beauty - 48 inch wingspan, fiberglass fuse with rivet details and panel lines, fiberglass cowl, aluminum spinner, mechanical retracts. Here's the link for more info: [link=http://www.allerc.com/HP-P51-25.htm]mustang data sheet[/link] (the photos show the blue version, but we've got the olive drab one)

We'll also have a few lesser prizes, I'm still working on rounding them up, but one already set is an Eflite Ultimate FX ARF.

OK Guys, here's an update of the raffle prizes:

1. Hyperion 25e Mustang ARF
2. AXI 2826/10 brushless outrunner (for .40 to .46-size planes)
3. Eflite Ultimate FX ARF

Barring any surprise donations this will probably be it. We'll draw 3 tickets, first guy gets first choice, etc.

We'll have our generator going for the PA system, so the electrical outlets will have juice for people who want to hook up AC battery chargers.

For food we'll have the grill going and will be cooking burgers and dogs. Will also have chips, cookies, sodas, and water.

The field has 5 flight stations. We're also going to designate a specific area off to the side for small 3D foamy flying for those who don't want to be hovering around over the runway in the pattern.

That's about all I can think of right now for this update.

OK, one last reminder.

Looking good for the fly-in tomorrow. Weather forecast was bouncing around earlier in the week, but now looks like it will be fantastic tomorrow. My favorite weather site - [link=http://usairnet.com/cgi-bin/launch/code.cgi?sta=KADW&model=avn&state=MD&Submit=Change+Location]usairnet.com[/link] is showing mostly clear, almost zero chance of rain, and winds from 5 to 9 mph (winds at the field are usually less than at the forecast site).

Heading out to the field this afternoon to help with the mowing and general setup.

Hope to have a good turnout tomorrow!
