Ok guys we are on the 1 week count down to this years Wings of Victory here in Woodland on July 24th-26th. Who is planning on showing up this year and what are you bringing? FYI new format change for this year. Not just limited toWW2 aircraft. This year we will take all propeller driven scale warbirds. Just keep in mind they have to be in a military paint scheme. Here are a couple shots from last year.

We have 3 photographers in the club. Myself, John Eaton and Steve Edmonds. John was out that weekend and got some great shots of my Stearman for me. Jump over to the link on the WDA site and in the photos section is a link to John's web site and photos. He has several past events there and some great shots. Here are a few of my Stearman that he took for me.

Is this going to be final event?
Was report on Los Angeles television that the Woodland based club hosting the event would be kicked off the site by November. Wm. |
RE: Wings of Victory 2009 - Woodland Davis Aeromodelers
We are in the process of buying a new site about 3 miles from the current site. We have 4 more events at the current site this year. Our lease is up in Nov on the current site and will hopefully be well on our way working on the new site.

RE: Wings of Victory 2009 - Woodland Davis Aeromodelers
thats a great looking stearman, love the smoke.
are you guys going to have a water area on the new site like the old field has that was a cool feature, we just got punted off our old field last year fortunitely we found another one just up the road, ended up having a better landing strip, and pit area because of it www.flypcc.org |
RE: Wings of Victory 2009 - Woodland Davis Aeromodelers
Thanks I have a lot of fun with the Stearman. We hope to have a lake for float flying. It may not be right away when we move on the site but it is in the long range plans for the club.

McQuack
Where is the new field going to be located. I was a member of the WDA about 10 years ago until I moved to Branson Mo. I visit my step daughter in Zamora from time to time and I always bring a plane, it would be nice to be able to find the new field and fly with old friends. |

You can keep tabs on what is going on threw the web site. www.wdarc.org We have a new web site that is quite a bit larger than the old. We now have a lot larger photo section and keep all the newsletters online as well. There is also a link to a map to the new site at our donation page for the new field construction. You can find that at and take a look at the map. http://www.wdarc.org/help.html
Will see you what you visit |
