Cool video! I always like to see the take off and landing, but the sound in the air was cool. Surely it's not as loud as the video makes it sound?

The video makes it sound a little tinny. But yes it is loud.
Take offs are just a chuck and the landing is just a plop.
Thanks Guys it's a fun plane which does justice to this little engine.

I need to get a bit more scientific about the prop.

Downloaded the dopler softwear and ran two runs.
The pass after the loop is 166.75 kph and the last pass is 166.04 kph

And backing into the numbers it appears just under 20,000rpm

These convert to just over 103mph - the little diesel is pulling his heart out

I watched the video of it flying , WOW , no wonder it got too far out and you lost orientation in your last outing , I think I blink too much to keep track of something like this!!!
Well done Rob.

Had the Caudron down for some maintenance.
Found a 5.25x6.25 lecky prop to whittle on - Pitch speed baby!

The plane had plenty of thrust with a 4.75" prop arc on the 5.5" pitch prop so I think I can sacrifice a bit....

Trimmed the 5.25 x 6.25 prop down to 4.75  and flew very well.

Need to get a tach on it.  It was difficult to tell if speed came up or not but sounded good in a bit of a dive

I see it's been a while since the last posting. Are there any links available to plans for the Caudron C-460 anywhere?

I'll answer for Rob on that because he's busy with work lately-I don't know where plans might be available, but the plane in the video was built from a fiberglass kit a friend of mine makes. JMGlaskraft doesn't have a website anymore but he's still in 'bidness. PM me if you want a contact number
