Default Engine info?

I recently required this little gem, it is brand new but didn't come with any box or other info.
Ball bearing and RC, looks to be about 0.5cc, and I simply couldn't resist it...

I have only seen pictures of similar ones before, It might be Pfeffer "square head" (?) does anyone have any more info?

This is indeed a Pfeffer 0.6cc-they've been around for many years, in small scale production. Yours is a little more unusual in that it is the R/C BB version, which is less common. I've seen them with a variety of head and spinner colours-red, black, blue pink and plain. Nice little engines-and certainly different in appearance-but not a patch on the MP Jet Classic for power or handling.

Very unique. the puzzle the exhaust looks conventional but how does the carb feed the engine is there a passage to the crankcase for the intake charge?, rotary valve? have never seen this configuration. what is the pathfor the intake charge?? martin

These have piston port induction. I have a regular one. I'd love to have a RC BB version but they are always expensive on thebay.

Yes, the operation principle is very similar to the MP Jet. But the crank feels alot stronger. I Also like the fact that one can route the exhaust away a little from the plane.

The carb is the smallets one I have seen, and it has a tiny airbleed too.
A similar carb would probably fit well on the Mp Jet too, it is only held by a tight fit.

It is a very strange market now, some engine go on the bay for crazy money only to end up on someones shelf...

I got this on a local bay, I was the only bidder and spent about $80.
I have been thinking about building a small Eastbourne and this engine would fit nicely.

They're not as easy to start as the MP Jet-and less powerful-also virtually impossible to exhaust prime-leaving you only the option of intake choking-always a bit fraught on sideports due to the strong suction. I tell curious onlookers that it's a rare czech engine with a square piston and cylinder-about half of them believe me...........
