Still going around with Bob on a head for this one. I do understand where he is coming from on this one . It is not noted a powerhouse and he is right, it will not be one even as diesel
However it does have a couple of things going for it light, has a beefy rod compared to AP, and PAW 061 , and it is bushed (rod) , decent carb
and for a park flyer conversion as a general fly engine should work with the other diesel advantage fuel consumption and QUIET very quiet if exhaust stacked to the back
and it is cheap and available' I think it will fill a need for the 1/2A/and Park flyer group
Of course we have the OSLA and TT10s but this is lighter and smaller and a raidal mount if desired, martin

Well ran it this AM wildcat 10% nitro ( all I have is 5 and 10%) RESULTS ON 15% may have been better, It is certainly not a powerhouse 10500 on a zinger 6x4 and
8200 7x3.5. after about 15 minutes put some Davis 1/2A fuel in and got almost the same numbers after about 15 seconds pulled the glow power and it kept running
burped quite a bit the usual under-compressed sign and then died after a minute



Cons not a lot of punch pros it is light can use a radial mount, its available,as diesel for a light park flyer to putt around in it would be ok but think that would be its only use

I don't quiet get it, 10500 rpm on 6x4 prop in glow version?

It should do at least 16500 on a 6x3 in the stock version, and will do about those revs on a APC 6.3X4 with a proper glow head.

I think the piston/liner fit is a bit sloppy for an ABN engine, mine is proone to overheating and it feels a bit like it is already worn out...

I haven't tached my PAW 55 (BB and RC) yet, but it feels much more powerful than the TT07, inspite of being less than half the size...:eek:
Surely a BB PAW 061 in RC with a muffler would eliminate the need for coverting the TT?

Mr cox the engine is nicely made, compression is good came up after 15 minutes and no lateral or back and forth slop on the crank, the venturi on the carb seems very small and
they may have the port timing off, the small carb would be a plus as a diesel but if it cannot get a good charge in the cylinder will never scream., think they have a design issue
The reports in the 1/2a forum were not impressive, the only thing going for it is a very nice strong rod

MY AP hornet 09 conversion turns 12600 on a zinger 8x4 (just had to toss that in). Guess in that 07-10 range conversiona TT10 and OS10s still rules
With the success of the other TTS the 07 does measure up martin

It may never scream, but it may pull a larger than normal sized prop with gusto (as a Diesel). Has anyone tried this approach?

Mr. Cox, A good PAW .55 or Schlosser .5 will turn a 6x4 in the 12k range.

Last anyone heard is Mr. Schlosser decided to stop building engines as he is in his 80's.


I have not confirmed this ugly rumor however.....I believe David Owen may have some still?

I have just ordered a Schlosser from David Owen.

When queried, David said there was no truth to the rumour. He said Herr Benno Schlosser intends making his engines for as long as he can. Although, that said, one day time will be up for all of us.

Thanks for the heads up on the schlossers , just put my name on one too. I think its amazeing that Benno is still makeing engines as I beleive he turned 85yo about a month ago!

I had obtained a TT 07 back 5 yrs ago as part of a horse trade and after never reading anything impressive about its operating characteristics, I let it go to someone who just had to have it.

He's been very happy with it.
