Good morning all, It appears the norvels are back. One the glow site. a guy email. klondike [email protected] has a listing of engines and parts, the 049 and 061 are listed
as well as parts, the Davis conversion head fits these as well as the Cox 049/051. quality of the engines ??? anybodys guess but both carb versions are listed martin

If you read the rest of that thread you'll find that they are not back at all, it is simply false marketing. It is most likely some guy with old parts and engines...

You, guys, are wrong. All the parts and engines I am selling come direct from the manufacturer in Russia. They are 100% original, not Chinese made.

The question that has not been answered anywhere is whether these are old stock or indeed newly made parts?

Who is the manufacturer when Norvel as a company does not exist anymore?

Sorry, I looked at the wrong price. The price for a NVdiesel head is $22.95. It is a contra-piston design with a lock bar. Since I made a mistake, I will sell it to you for $20.00

Although primarily designed for Cox .049 and .051 engines, the assembly will screw in to the Novel .049 &amp; .061 engines.

Hi Bernie, are those heads made by DDD, looks like the same design? Are you making any heads for the PeeWee?

I only know of DDD (of which I already have a few) and the RJL ones with an o-ring sealed counter piston. There has also been a swedish one with a traditional friction seal of the counter piston in the head, but these are not made anymore.

As for NV stuff I would at least like to know the construction before buying anything, is there at least a photo or something?

They are the same as the DDD ones, which was unintentional.

We had sent a DDD sample to a machine shop and asked that they copy the combustion chamber but modify the outside to a 2-fin version (similar to our glow plug adapter), different screw and slotted to accommodate a regular Cox wrench. The drawing they made was great.

However, after sitting on the order for 4 months and not manufacturing them, we finally asked them to forward everything to a competing shop. The competing shop made them right away but, in the process, the mods were forgotten :(

When we received the finished product yesterday, I winced as we are not in the habit of copying other's designs. But it was too late to worry about the design and we listed them as is. Oh well, they are proven design at least :D

As to the NV one, no idea what it looks like, sorry.

An O-ring is utilized where the technological process doesn't guarantee a precise fitting of the contra-piston. In our case, it is guaranteed, thus no O-ring

I do not no of any current manufacturer that makes a conversion head with the common tight (lapped) contra piston. Instead they are gaskets supported by a counter piston (DDD and Bernie) or a counter piston with o-ring seal (RJL). There was a swedish product (in the 80-ties) with a traditional lapped counter piston, but these are not made any more as far as I know...

Don't Enya currently makes lapped counter liner/piston assemblies?

I know that they are not 'conversions' but it shows that its commercially possible.

Recycled flyer My enya 25 parts breakdown sheet does not show an O ring on the the contra and of course my Irvine 40 diesels ( factory head ) do not either, my personal preference
is an O ring Davis of course on his heads and a few others no chance of sticking, martin

Hi Martin,
You will also find that all Team Race racing diesels use a lapped three piece head- they simply don't trust that little O ring at 30 000rpm!
